Last Saturday, the first 3D print store in Germany 'iGo3D' was opened in Oldenburg, Southwest down the E22 from Hamburg. 50 invited guests were able to witness the opening ceremony in the City Center Oldenburg.
Instead of cutting a red band with scissors, there was a 3D printed chain to be cut with bolt cutter. After this, the visitors were given a tour through the whole store. The 130 square meters space is filled with 3D Printers from 3D Systems, Leapfrog, Ultimaker, Builder, Witbox and Felix. 3D scanners from David Laserscanner are also available at the store, with 3D printing materials and all kinds of 3D printed accessories. Visitors can buy 3D printed jewelry and cases for smartphones, as well as 3D printed lamps and furniture etc.
In the concept store of iGo3D, there is also space for young developers. In cooperation with iGo3D, a team from the FabLab Oldenburg showed off their brand new "Joseb" 3D printer and several other projects.
According to iGo3D, the opening of the local store is its first step to introduce 3D printing to the German public. Those who are interested can stop by and watch the devices in operation, discover the possibilities of 3D printing and find the right printer for themselves.
The iGo3D concept store will be open from Tuesday, September 10th, daily from 10 am to 6 pm.
