Timeline is not accurate at all. SLA machine was around 1988, SLS was around 1990. First production part in SLS was 1996. And what about Stratasys FDM? Prior to Objet - merge with Objet and MakerBot? EOS metals and Arcam? They had metal implants in production before Layerwise was even a thought? Don't trust everything you read on the Internet.

Good infographic. Only the explanation "How does it work" may be a little bit misleading. It explains Stereolithography, only one of a few 3D Printing technologies. Common is the production layer by layer of material.

Who did that map? It says that 61% of the 3d printers are in Europe, and the map includes the whole Russia (the rather small part in Europe, and rather large part in Asia)...
