NY start-up Inventery has announced the release of Morphi, its intuitive 3D modeling and design app for the iPad and iPad mini.
Inspired by the global tradition of creating with hands, Inventery has built Morphi specifically for touchscreens. Morphi is a simple, tactile modeling and design app that lets users to create 3D printable models. In Morphi, users can explore libraries of unique 3D shapes, text and colors, change background from blue sky to starry night or change the grid from lined space to granite. Toolbars can be hidden for more room to create. For additional inspiration, users can explore and download 3D designs using the ideas button.
Developed in collaboration with Geometros using sgCore, 3D modeling tools (like rotate, resize, subtract, group) are simplified and streamlined. This allows users to efficiently add, subtract and position objects to build 3D models. The alignment tools also provide quick left, right and center object placement.
Short, fun tutorials are embedded in the app so users can master the art of 3D modeling in Morphi. The app offers free basic tools and additional features for in-app purchase. More shapes, text, colors and tools will be offered to expand the design possibilities.
The models can be exported in .STL format for uploading to 3D printers using third-party slicing software or to commercial 3D printing services.
You can download the Morphi app here on iTunes store.
