London-based startup 3D Ventures wants to revolutionize the food 3D printing industry by developing an affordable premium product. The result is a confectionery-focused food 3D printer, Candy.
The Candy has a sleek design, and is a state-of-the-art confectionery 3D printer made for everyone. Candy's plug and play electric extruder allows you to print with any semisolid food stuff to help you decorate cakes, make cookies, print bespoke chocolates.
Candy features open design that allows you to see your food being prepared. Its included SD card comes preloaded with many preset designs, making it easily usable for anyone. Simply fill up the food dispenser, select the design and print.
"Candy automates many repetitive, time-consuming processes, leaving you free to focus on the important things. Custom chocolate designs, for example, are made swiftly and precisely. Why labor with the process when Candy can do it for you?" - 3D Ventures
3D Ventures believes that food 3D printers should be accessible to everyone, so they have priced Candy at just $499 (£359). 3D Ventures is launching the Kickstarter campaign for Candy on Wednesday August 20 at 09:00 AM EST or 3:00 PM BST. Stay tuned.

Trollers, trollers everywhere... Let's wait for their Kickstarter campaign to find out more about the printer. Good luck, guys.

I wonder what 3Ders uses as criteria for using a story? It sure looks like all one needs is a video and a crowd source campaign. Valid 3D Print technology? Nope not needed! Come on you guys!

Yeah...not a true 3-d printer more like a 'food plotter'...but...AFAIK only one other company has a extrusion syringe available. Can't remember their name but it was launched at $2900 over a year ago. Heard nothing about it lately. The 'ceramic' printers that CAN do 3D with paste are more what I waiting for from the food printers. A dual head printer would be awesome for two color decorating....or it could have mixed materials. Custard in one (could be for injection into a cake or decoration) paired with a decorative icing. My wife's a retired chef and she has about 4000 ways she could use a printer...but this one is just too basic.

At the title I was hoping for a 3d printing that uses taffy or hard candy filament, that works like a FDM printer to melt the candy, and recool it instantly so you can print an actual 3d model in candy!

A bit of a stretch to call this a 3D printer. It's a CNC extruder operating in two dimensions.
