Botler is an affordable, large build size open source 3D printer launched on indiegogo on Sep 06. Botler boasts a print volume of 315 mm x 315 mm x 315 mm (12.4x12.4x12.4in), saving you the hassel to break up large objects into smaller pieces. In addition to the large print area, the Botler features a heated aluminum build platform that allows printing with ABS plastic without warping or lifting. The parts can be removed easily when printing is done. In addition the build plate locks into place without the commonly used binder clips.
The Botler team has recently upgraded their printer with a few features which they have previously offered if they reach certain goals, making it more attactive to backers. They have upgraded all the printers with easy bed leveling with motion sensors and improved the current extruder.
"The new extruder will adopt Teflon and aluminum alloy heat radiator for heat dissipation and duralumin alloy nozzle. It will have a 12V operating cooling fan. Its surface will be covered with anodic oxide coating, which can resist oxidation corrosion and increase nozzle hardness." stated the team on their Indiegogo page. They are also installing a LED light to the extruder to illuminate the printing area, which can be controlled by the LCD.
The Botler control panel has a LCD control screen and built in SD Card reader that allows users to load and initiate prints without connecting the printer directly to the computer.

Same old, same old, reprap style printer, e3d copied extruder, a little cosmethics and 600 dollars. Same recipe, nothing new, probably there are dozens of this printers on the market already.

NEVER EVER CONTRIBUTE TO INDIEGOGO! If you get scammed, Google around for various people who lost their investment/donation, INDIEGOGO does nothing and accepts no responsibility. That includes contacting authorities or taking legal action. Many of us learned this recently after some grifter stole our monies for a 3d pen and printer. Two separate funding drives by the same company, both ripoffs. INDIEGOGO has done absolutely nothing to either have these thieves arrested or sued. You can't even crosspost your experiences with a company to another funding drive that company is involved with. Once INDIEGOGO receives their cut why should they care?
