French large-scale 3D printing company XtreeE, which is gaining traction with its innovative concrete 3D printing technology, has announced that it has entered into an agreement with French construction company VINCI. The partnership will seek to advance XtreeE’s construction-based 3D printing technology through collaboration with VINCI Construction specialists. In addition to the partnership, VINCI Construction has also acquired a stake in the 3D printing company.
XtreeE’s concrete 3D printing technology is certainly rising to the top of its field, as the French startup has made a number of high-profile partnerships and taken on some truly exciting projects recently. This past September, for instance, the company partnered with LafargeHolcim to create Europe’s first 3D printed concrete load-bearing structural element, as well as unveiled an impressive 3 meter tall concrete pavilion that it 3D printed in collaboration with Dassault Systèmes, ABB, and LarfargeHolcim.
More recently, XtreeE has teamed up with Habitat 76, a French social landlord organization, to develop 3D printed student accommodation. The landmark project, which is the first of its kind in France, is aiming to have the 3D printed studios built on the Mont-Saint-Aignan campus near Rouen by as soon as 2018.
Now, having partnered with VINCI Construction, France’s leader in building and civil engineering, XtreeE will continue to advance its additive manufacturing technology as both companies will explore potential applications for 3D printing in the construction industry. For VINCI Construction, the partnership is a chance to leverage 3D printing technologies within the construction sector.

Founded in 2015, XtreeE has dedicated itself to the integration and advancement of digital manufacturing technologies into the construction sector. Most notably, it has been developing a robotic 3D printing system capable of additively manufacturing large-scale concrete structures based on 3D models. In line with developing the printing technology, XtreeE has also been working on creating construction-grade 3D printing concrete materials. The company’s growing list of high-profile clients are helping to accelerate these technologies.
