Jugnoo, an Indian app for on-demand transport and logistics that specializes in auto-rickshaw rides, has made inroads into the field of additive manufacturing with a new on-demand 3D printing store: Printo.
Printo, which was realized in partnership with Korea’s GEM Platform, will reportedly give Jugnoo users the ability to order customized 3D printed parts through its app. Fittingly, the Chandigarh-based company will then deploy the finished 3D prints via its network of transport vehicles.
As part of its collaboration with GEM Platform, Jugnoo says it will become the exclusive Indian re-seller of GEM 3D printers, including its Gemini 3D printer.
In addition to the Printo 3D printing store and service, Jugnoo also says it wants to promote additive manufacturing within India.
Samar Singla, founder and CEO of Jugnoo, explained: “We also plan on expanding our services by educating kids on 3D printing technology, hardware & software, designing, linking, and other basic details. We are empowering tomorrow's creators by integrating technology in their disciplines. For instance, inculcating 3D printing into the existing curriculum of robotics could also be a good platform in shaping kids' futures.”
As part of this effort, Jugnoo says it will employ 3D printing experts who will help train younger generations and teach them about the 3D printing process. For its on-demand 3D printing store, the company adds it “will be onboarding various merchants on the platform across a number of cities.”
