French engineering company Groupe Gorgé has launched Prodways Entrepreneurs, a support and financing solution designed for European companies in the 3D Printing area or those who wish to migrate their production towards 3D printing.
Groupe Gorge acquired Prodways, a manufacturer of professional 3D printing solutions, in late 2013. In April 2014, Groupe Gorge bought 100% of the capital of DeltaMed GmbH, a photosensitive resins developer based in Germany.
Prodways Entrepreneurs is a subsidiary of Groupe Gorgé, and comprised of team of 3D printing experts and finance professionals to provide companies with support and financial, strategic, technical and operational solution for their development.
First company to receive personalized support from Prodways Entrepreneurs is Salon de Provence based Dentosmile. Dentosmile offers a new technique to realign teeth using transparent, scalable aligners which are tailor made using a digital modelling software and 3D printing. Compared to the traditional orthodontic methods, which use metal rings and wires, this new system is invisible and feels more comfortable to wear.
Prodways Entrepreneurs invested €700,000 (a 20% stake in its capital) to support the company's growth and necessary technical development. Dentosmile relies in particular on the MOVINGLight technology developed by Prodways and is to benefit from future developments of new materials offered by the company. Company's teams are to assist Dentosmile in implementing industrial production process.
