3YOURMIND, a Berlin-based industrial 3D printing software solutions company, has today announced that it has raised $12 million through a Series A funding round. The company, which first expanded into the U.S. in 2016 with an office in San Francisco, also announced it will be opening its first east coast office in New York City.
3YOURMIND says the funding from the investment round will be put towards both expanding its footing in the American market—where it has already secured a number of high profile aerospace clients including GKN—and towards breaking into Asia’s industrial 3D printing market.
"The strong demand we are seeing from large, established businesses for our industrial 3D printing solutions confirms this is the future of high-tech manufacturing in the U.S. and globally," commented Aleksander Ciszek, CEO of 3YOURMIND.
Those who have been following 3YOURMIND’s trajectory closely will remember that the company secured a significant investment from EOS founder Dr. Hans J. Langer in 2015 to further develop and expand its 3D printing software platform.
The $12 million investment secured by 3YOURMIND will also be put towards the development of new software tools and programs to increase the ease and efficiency of industrial 3D printing processes. The company’s goal is to continue to make industrial additive manufacturing more accessible for a variety of manufacturing applications.
Markus Josten, a representative from GKN, believes the company has already played an important role on this front. “3YOURMIND provides a missing link in the growth and development of industrial 3D printing,” he said. “The platform enables customers to dramatically decrease the cost and complexity of using 3D printing, and thus makes it much more accessible.”
The Series A funding round was led by Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners (UVC Partners) and drew investments from TRUMPF Venture, the investment branch of machine tool company TRUMPF, as well as AM Ventures (AMV), a sister company of 3D printer manufacturer EOS.
"3YOURMIND has developed very positively since we were a lead investor in their first financing round in 2015,” commented Johann Oberhofer, CEO of AMV. “Very quickly, they have grown into one of the leading providers of intelligent software solutions for 3D printing. Being part of the Series A financing to support the expansion into the U.S. and Asia was an easy decision.”
3YOURMIND has earned such acclaim thanks to its innovative software solutions for industrial 3D printing applications. Its platform enables clients to determine which parts from their inventory would be best suited for 3D printing, and helps to streamline the 3D printing production process for both internal and external suppliers.
It also offers software solutions geared towards 3D printing services, which allow for “secure and error-free access” to the service’s industrial 3D printers. Other features include real-time printability analysis, as well as automatic optimization for 3D models.
With its continued support from industry leaders, it seems that 3YOURMIND will have few problems achieving its expansion goals.
