This video discussed what 3D printing is and its advantages today and what it will be in the future. It is nicely presented by Christopher Barnatt of ExplainingTheFuture.com, Associate Professor of Computing & Future Studies in Notingham University Business School.
"3D printing would allow products and parts to be stored digitally online; items can be delivered via internet and produced locally so transportation cost can be reduced; additive manufacturing could reduce materials wastage and increase customization", said Christopher Barnatt, "but 3D printing is not going to replace traditional manufacturing, it may increase personal manufacturing at home, in the store or online."
