Hailey Dawson, a young girl with a 3D printed prosthetic arm, was invited to drop the puck at an NHL hockey game between the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Philadelphia Flyers this past Sunday. Hailey had previously been invited by many professional baseball teams to throw the first ceremonial pitch using her 3D printed prosthetic.

At just seven years old, Hailey Dawson has become something of a sports icon in the United States.
The young girl, who was born with a rare congenital disease called Poland Syndrome, causing her to be born with only two fingers on her right hand, was fitted with a special prosthetic hand a few years ago, which would let her pursue her love for America’s favorite pastime: baseball.
The 3D printed prosthetic was designed by a team of engineers from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Evidently, Hailey’s dedication and passion for baseball even at such a young age caught the attention of some major league teams, because the seven-year-old has been invited by most MLB teams to throw the first pitch at games.
Her first MLB appearance was in 2015, when she threw the ceremonial first pitch at a Baltimore Orioles game. Since then she has also made appearances at an LA Dodgers and Houston Astros game, and has been invited by over 28 other MLB teams to throw the first pitch at their home fields.

This past Sunday, however, Hailey took a break from her usual sport to attend an NHL hockey game between the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Philadelphia Flyers. The game, which was hosted at the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas, ended up in a 4-1 loss for the Golden Knights.
Maybe the young girl has expanded her goal of throwing the first pitch at every Major League Baseball park using her 3D printed hand to ice rinks as well?
